The "Zoom Lock" device |
Sigma Corporation is pleased to announce the availability of
the new 28-300mm F3.5-6.3 MACRO lens.Ultra compact dimensions, length:
3.3", diameter: 2.9", Filter Size: 62mm and a 10.7:1 zoom ratio make
this lens the ultimate traveling companion. This versatile, all-purpose
zoom can capture a wide ranging series of subjects using its wide
angle, ultra-telephoto and close-up capabilities. It incorporates 2pcs
Special Low Dispersion SLD glass elements and 4pcs Aspherical Lenses,
to produce a high level of optical performance. Aspherical lenses
provide excellent correction for all types of aberration while making a
very compact construction possible. This lens has a minimum focusing
distance of 50cm at all focal lengths. Equipped with a macro mechanism
for close-up photography at 300mm telephoto, with a reproduction ratio
of 1:3. It is equipped with a "zoom lock" to prevent the zoom setting
from being changed inadvertently. It incorporates an internal focusing
system, which eliminates front lens rotation, allowing the use of
polarizing filters and Petal type hoods. The lens materials used in
this new lens are lead and arsenic free ecological glass.
Corresponding AF Mount:
Sigma SA, Canon, Minolta, Nikon (D) and Pentax.

Sigma - 24-70mm
f2.8 EX Aspherical DG DF
The
Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 EX Aspherical DG DF is one of several new products
to be introduced at PMA 2001 by Sigma Corporation of Japan (2-3-15,
lwado-Minami, Komae-shi, Tokyo) This lens covers focal lengths
from 24mm ultra wide angle to 70mm medium telephoto and provides
a large f2.8 aperture at all focal lengths. Its design employs
three (3) aspherical lens elements to minimize spherical aberration,
astigmatism and sagittal comma flare. The use of two (2) SLD (The
Special Low Dispersion) glass elements results in excellent correction
of chromatic aberration and provides a high level of optical
performance and 24-70rnm F2.8 EX ASPHERICAL DG DF has high contrast and
resolution. The lens also incorporates Dual Focus mechanism. It is easy
to hold
the lens, since the focusing ring does not rotate during auto focusing,
and yet provides a wide focus ring for easy to use manual focus.
Since the front of the lens does not rotate, it allows the use of
a flower shaped "Perfect Hood" and facilities the use of polarizing
filters. The lens materials used in this new lens are lead and arsenic
free ecological glass.

Sigma - 105mm f2.8 EX Macro
1:1 Lens
The Sigma
105mm f2.8 EX Macro delivers superb, distortion-free images throughout
its broad focus range, from infinity telephoto to 1:1 (life-size)
macro, as close as 12.3" without accessories.
Its
non-rotating front lens group makes it easier to work with polarizing
filters and has a focus limiter (eg. Full Range; - 15.8 in.; 14.6
in. - 12.3 in.).
A
"focus-free" mechanical design allows the lens to auto focus without
any interference from the manual focus ring. This makes it easier to
hold the lens without affecting the speed or normal operation of the
autofocus function. Rugged mechanical construction also makes it
durable enough for even the heaviest use required by professional
photographers.
The Sigma
105mm f2.8 EX Macro features the new deluxe external EX finish. These
features and other Sigma optical advances, including an uncommonly
broad range of
focus, make this an ideal lens for a wide variety of applications, from
nature photography to portraits.
A handy
screw-in type metal sunshade makes it easier to rotate
a polarizing filter.

Sigma - 18-50mm F3.5-5.6 DC
Sigma Corporation is pleased to announce the
launch of the
new 18-50mm F3.5-5.6 DC. This zoom lens was exclusively designed
to suit the characteristics of digital SLR cameras. The image circle
was designed to match the size of the image sensors of digital SLR
cameras, and this produced a compact lens with a maximum diameter of
60mm (2.3 in.), overall length of 67.5mm (2.6 in.) and weight of only
245g (8.6 oz.). It has a variable angle of view of 76.5 degree
- 31.7 degree. The use of aspherical lenses provides correction for
various aberrations throughout the entire zoom range and produce high
level of optical performance. 18-50mm F3.5-5.6 DC lens has a
minimum focusing distance of 25cm (9.8 in.) at all focal lengths and is
capable of macro photography with a maximum magnification ratio of
1:3.5.

Sigma - 50-200mm F4-5.6 DC
Sigma Corporation is pleased to announce the
launch of the
new 55-200mm F4-5.6 DC. This compact telephoto zoom lens was
exclusively designed for use with digital SLR cameras. The image circle
was designed
to match the size of the image sensors of digital SLR cameras that
also allows compact body and lightweight with overall length of
84.6mm (3.3 in.), and weight of only 310g/10.9 oz. It has a filter size
of 55mm, maximum diameter of 70mm (2.7 in.). This remarkably compact
high performance zoom lens is ideally suited to a wide range of
subjects. This lens has a minimum focusing distance of 110cm (43.3
in.) and maximum magnification of 1:4.

*DC lenses cannot be used in SA-7
and SA-9 35mm film SLR cameras. Combination with these cameras may
cause vignetting on the picture surface.
*If SD9 or SD10 digital cameras are used, the angle of view will be
equal to 30-85mm focal length. The angle of view varies depending on
the camera.
