Intuos2
Tablet
Wacom
Tablets and Adobe Photoshop CS
There have been some radical improvements in the Wacom tablet
technology since the last time I owned one. I am at the moment testing
the intuos2
9x12 inch tablet. It is one of those wicked looking 'deep purple'
things.
The overall design of the tablet, the functions, the incredibly precise
and smooth pen, that strange wireless and unpowered mouse, all the new
software functions. I think it could take a long time just to get to
know all the
functions of this device. It sure isn't the graphics tablet of
yesterday.

Gitzo
"Mountaineer" Carbon Fibre Tripods
Only a real photographer can love a Gitzo, even thirty years ago when I
was selling photographic equipment, I would constantly have to defend
the
ugly and old fashioned looking Gitzo tripods.
Gitzo
Off-Set Ball Heads
Gitzo Off-Set Ball Heads are renowned for smooth operation and positive
locking. The rotating conical socket is unique to Gitzo and provides a
range
of movement impossible with conventional heads. The graduated base,
with
its independent lock, allows perfect panoramic positioning.

Only a real photographer can love a Gitzo, even thirty years ago when I

Well the looks haven't changed but the materials are as usual the
finest available. The newest Gitzo "mountaineer" tripods are made of
space age carbon fibre and alloy castings that keep getting lighter and
stronger with every generation.
The
new Gitzo G1027 and
G1028 carbon
fibre tripods weigh less than 800g (1.75 lbs) and are only 45cm (17.7
in)
long; so light and compact you'll hardly notice them, but strong and
stable
for a secure footing in extreme environments. Depending on your needs,
you
can choose between the 3 section G1027 with a maximum height of 121cm
(47.5
in), and the 4 section G1028 at 138cm (54 in). Both have all leg
sections in carbon fibre and head castings in aluminium, and both carry
up to 3kg (6.6
lbs) loads.

The complete range is now available in magnesium, which is 20% lighter,
and a significant saving for photographers on the move. A new
Teflon-based anodising process gives the ball a refined, even smoother
movement.
Both fixed plate and quick release versions are available throughout
the range.
All fixed plate models have single "I" slot for the camera fixing screw
to allow fine positioning of the camera on the head.
